When we’re spec’ing convector heaters for industrial machines, we’re working in tight spots where heat can’t be optional. One of our go-to setups hits 400V, pushes 2500W, and packs it all into a 300mm tube. That’s a lot of heat in a small footprint. And it’s intentional. High voltage keeps the current manageable on the control side, while still dumping the energy you need to hold process temperatures steady. The 300mm length? That’s the sweet spot for compact zones—like narrow heating channels or cramped enclosures.
Material & Design: Halogen, Coating, and Connectors
We build these with a halogen-filled quartz tube because it takes the heat—again and again—without getting tired. That internal halogen cycle helps protect the filament from evaporating, so you don’t get the usual blackening and output drop over time. A tough coating keeps the tube resistant to thermal shock and contamination. In rough environments, it just keeps working. For termination, we use the R7s connector. It’s an industrial standard for a reason: it locks in fast, handles the wattage, and makes replacement a simple, dependable drop-in.
Application & Benefits: PET Blowing and Process Heat
In PET blowing, you need heat that’s predictable and right where you point it—softening the preform without roasting everything around it. A 400V, 2500W halogen convector tube gives you that focused energy, and it responds quickly. But here’s the reality: that much wattage density needs proper airflow and the right mounting distance. If your machine’s cooling isn’t set up for it, the tube will run hotter than it should, and its life will shrink. Spec it correctly, wire it up with R7s, and you get repeatable heat exactly where your process needs it.
